Community Groups

What Are Community Groups?

The life and soul of the BRBC family is found in Community Groups. These small and informal groups meet in peoples homes around God’s Word throughout the week and they offer the opportunity to build community on a deeper level.

We have Community Group so we can come alongside one another in the day to day of our lives, not just on Sundays.

At BRBC, we believe all of us need Community Groups because they are the place where transformative relationships are forged. Community Groups are designed to be a safe relational environment where you experience the grace of Jesus in a personal and specific way. They aim to get underneath the external masks we wear and allow us to honestly follow Jesus together. Community Groups focus not only on what you need to know, but who you are becoming in Christ.

While we fully understand busy schedules and juggling priorities, we ask those who join Community Groups to commit to one another. To read about what that means, click on the button below.

What to expect

Each group will look different, but the important basics will be there. There is time to connect with others, study the Bible together and pray for one another. Most of our groups meet in the evening and are best suited to adults. We also have a number of family groups who meet together in the early evening. Family Community Groups start with a meal followed by study; children come along with their parents.

When do we meet?

We have groups that meet throughout the week, on the following days; Sunday afternoon, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday evenings.

Where do they meet?

Our groups meet in various locations across Suffolk. Currently we have groups meeting in Bury St Edmunds, Ixworth, Norton, Elmswell, Thurston, Red Lodge, Lawshall, Great Barton, Icklingham, Rougham and Mildenhall, but there are often new groups starting.

Can I try a different group?

Absolutely! Finding a group that works both in terms of time & location and that fits relationally is very important. If you are considering joining a community group, you are more than welcome to try out a few. We just ask that once you find one, you commit to it.
